Can't send voice texts on Rav 4

Having recently purchased a Toyota RAV4, I set up my voice recognition and Bluetooth to match my iPhone 6. However, even though I can receive text messages, I cannot send them or reply to them. The message I get from the audio system is that my phone is not compatible device. Is anyone else receiving this message? Has anyone found a solution?
